Search Entries
Names, locations, or other terms entered in a search box are sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Lorain County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy rules apply to the information it receives.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact message, we retain the content and reply details as needed to answer. We do not share that message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected
Standard web services may record technical information when a page loads. This information supports operation, measurement, and troubleshooting.
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps for requests

Links may lead to Lorain County Sheriff release records, Ohio corrections pages, court portals, federal locators, and third-party search tools. Ohio government records reached through these links remain subject to applicable law, including the Ohio Public Records Act, ORC 149.43, and its exemptions.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and tailor ads. That tracking occurs under those providers’ policies, not as a Lorain County government records function.

- Correct inaccurate information they supplied
- Delete personal information where deletion is required or appropriate

These requests apply to this site’s own data. Official jail, court, ODRC, VINE, BOP, or ICE records must be addressed to the office that controls them.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as services, vendors, or legal duties change. An updated version takes effect when it is posted here with a new effective date.
